Cambodian Photo Scare

Again the following is an email sent early June 2007 after a nasty scare in Cambodia regarding my photos.

Yes, two emails in two days amazing (and unlikely to be repeated in the future). The main reason was due to the fact that I had to return to the Internet cafe today to "duke it out" with the owner here cos I feared that he has wiped all my photos from the ipod!!! We seem to have resolved the situation and calmed the crisis ( i.t. support here involves praying to Buddha and making an offering of burning incense sticks, so i am still to be convinced). Side note - the "i.t specialist" here is a fella by the name Kun - I think it is a letter short of what i would like to call him.

So while the boys from the lab try to fix the situation I thought I would send some photos that have been retrieved so far. In no order the photos are:

1. Lynn (host) from Hong Kong spitting off the Great Wall of China (favorite so far)

2. Tony standing in front of 1 of about 450 Buddhist temples I've visited (notice gut) maybe Thailand can't be sure

3. great photo of the Angkor Wat temple (800 years old)

4. entering Cambodia via the "oatmeal road"

Please let me know if not received correctly (but honestly, I really don't care anymore.

Also to respond to a few queries I've been asked:

1. No, have not got a mail order bride from the region (though I suppose that term would not be correct, more a take away bride - either way, none exists).

2. No, I am not coming back to CIS (blog note - my former employment). part of my condition for escaping was to sacrifice one of my family members to take my place. The guilt and shame I feel for doing that means I can never, never return (plus I've got 2 other nieces, so she won't be missed)

3. Nice to hear polly-Ester is doing so well and fitting in. Yes, she is a related to me. (blog note - Ester is my niece who has commenced work at CIS since I left)

I think I've written enough rubbish.
